Peter J. Killius June 21, 2022 Peter J. Killius, 57, of North Syracuse and formerly of Key West, FL, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, after an extensive battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Born in Syracuse, he graduated in 1983 from Cicero High School. He attended Syracuse University, Morrisville A&T School and graduated from SUNY Albany at St. Peter’s Hospital. He was a certified surgical technician until reinventing himself as a restaurateur. He owned Pete’s Meats in Key West for 20 years and more recently Paradise Pizza. Peter loved meeting people, and did so with his generous, outstanding personality and infectious smile. He never knew a stranger; everyone he met was his friend. The past several years, he spent his time in Key West and at his camp at Brennan’s Beach in Pulaski, New York. Peter loved to sail and started with sailing a Hobie Cat. He belonged to Fleet 204 and taught sailing both on Oneida Lake and in Key West. Predeceased by his father, Walter, in 2018, Peter is survived by his family members, Nancy Blair Killius, Patricia Killius, Pamela (Gary) Burket, Paul (Maria) Killius, Marguerite (Craig) Harper, Madison Pinkerton, several nieces and nephews, and his lifelong friends. A calling hour will be from 3:00 to 4:00 pm on Tuesday, June 28th, 2022 followed by a service at Fergerson Funeral Home, 215 South Main Street, North Syracuse with a reception to follow the service.
