Robert Timerson Obituary (1947 – 2022) – Constantia, NY

Robert W. Timerson May 23, 2022 Robert W. Timerson, 75, of Constantia, N.Y., passed away on May 23, 2022, at the Syracuse Veteran’s Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Jane Timerson of Phoenix, New York, and his brother Edward Timerson of Cato, New York. Robert was a 1965 Graduate of Phoenix Central School and a 1966 Graduate of the Operating Engineers Training School for Surveying and Engineering. Robert enlisted in the Navy Seabees reserves in 1965 and was called up to active Duty in 1966. He served 22 months in Vietnam and was awarded many medals, ribbons, and badges from the US Navy, the South Vietnamese Government, and New York State. He was honorably discharged in July 1969 at Treasure Island, California. After returning from Vietnam Robert worked for the operating engineers 545-D on the I-690 and Rte. 481 road projects. Robert left CNY and traveled for six years working and living in San Francisco, Ca., Vancouver, B.C. and Bangor, Me, before returning to CNY. He worked for various contractors in NY, North Carolina, and Florida over a 30-year period before starting his own Construction Management Consulting Service in 2001; retiring in 2014. Some of the more memorable projects he worked on were the EM Barracks at Fort Drum, the covered weapons igloos at Griffiss AFB in Rome, hangers for the 174th fighter wing at Hancock AFB, the Salmon River Fish Hatchery in Altmar, the Garbage Burning Steam Plant in Fulton, the Hancock Airport parking garage, the tiger enclosure at the Syracuse Zoo, the original Carousel Mall and the sports complexes and turf fields at Central Square and East Syracuse schools. Robert enjoyed hunting and loved to work in a vegetable garden every summer. He is survived by his wife Faith, his son Luke Timerson of San Diego, California., his daughter Kathryn Timerson of Baldwinsville, N.Y., brothers James (Peggy) Timerson of Lawton, Oklahoma, Mike Timerson of Constantia, N.Y., and sister Janice (Tim) Burdick of Phoenix, N.Y.
