Raymond M. Gifford March 31, 2022 An avid outdoorsman, Syracuse Orange fanatic and truly exceptional Family man, Raymond M. Gifford, 81, of Chittenango, gave to all he knew, until his heart could give no more. The world lost a true HERO Thursday, March 31, 2022. Ray is a 1958 graduate of Chittenango HS and an 82nd Airborne veteran of the US Army, where he met his Southern soulmate, Mickie McMillon. They were married 3/11/1960 and celebrated 62 years together on 3/11/2022, with family. After the successful ownership of RayMar contracting, Ray worked as a bus driver, trainer and maintenance mechanic with Chittenango Schools, retiring in 1989. Ray’s Community involvement include: Life member/past Chief Chittenango Volunteer Fire Dept, President /founder Chittenango Old Timers Firemans Assoc, social member North Chittenango Fire Dept, Village codes enforcement officer, President Chittenango Bus Drivers Assoc, volunteer @ Chittenango Canal Landing Museum, past member Lions, Moose and Rod & Gun clubs. Ray was predeceased by his beloved Granddaughter Lealani J, whose loss he never got over, his parents Carl & Liz Gifford, mother in law Martha McMillon and brothers Norm, Paul and Bobby. Ray is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Mickie McMillon Gifford, Sons Jeffrey (Candy Little), Robert (Patti McGinnis), Daughter Rayma (Dan) Santorelli, Grandsons Jeffrey & Danny, Granddaughters Allee & Corey, Great-Grandchildren Lina, Freya, Rylee, Gabby, Kara, Carter & Cayden, Brother-in-law Daniel (Karen) McMillon, Sister-in-Law Gloria (Norm) Gifford, along with a whole boatload of Nieces, Nephews, friends and extended Family, near and far. Calling hours are 4-6 Tuesday April 5, 2022, with Services to follow at 6pm at the GF Zimmer Funeral Home, 702 Legion Drive, Chittenango.
