Daily Post reports that the Katsina Police Command says its operatives may have eliminated scores of bandits after a gun battle at Fadimawa Village in Kurfi LGA of Katsina State on Tuesday.

The Command said a team of officers repelled the criminals and recovered stolen animals when an attack was launched on Fadimawa village.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Gambo Isah disclosed this during a press briefing at the State Police Command on Friday.

Gambo said ”the terrorists who were in large numbers during the attack rustled an unspecified number of domestic animals before the DPO of Kurfi led a team of policemen to the scene, engaged and overpowered them in a fierce gun duel, recovering all the stolen animals.”

The Police PRO explained that “the operational strategy and gallantry displayed by the team was responsible for overpowering the hoodlums and recovering all the stolen animals.

However, Gambo said, “search parties are still combing the nearby bushes with a view to arresting the hoodlums or recovering their dead bodies while investigations are ongoing.”
