Golf Writer, Broadcaster Tim Rosaforte Cause of Death Passes Away At 66




One of the great journalists, Tim Rosaforte, has died at the age of 66. Golf Channel announced the devastating news on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Jay Monahan, PGA Tour commissioner, released a statement after Tim’s death news came to light. He said that the PGA Tour family lost a friend. Monahan added that the journalist was an amazing storyteller who showcased what differentiates gold from other sports and that it was people and personalities. He further added that Tim Rosaforte was a true professional who always treated the athletes and the organization fairly.

Jay Monahan also said that the 66-year-old never stopped working the phones ensuring that he got the story first and right. He stated that Tim will be dearly missed by the golf community. Ever since the heartbreaking news was announced on Tuesday, social media saw an outpouring of condolences and tributes from the gold world. Jack Nicklaus and Phil Mickelson also paid tribute to the late journalist and praised him for his work.

Tim Rosaforte Cause of Death?

Taking to Twitter, Phil Mickelson wrote that Tim shared insight into the game of golf from a positive point of view and lifted everyone around him. Mickelson further wrote that Rosaforte will be remembered by so many people who came in contact with him. Whereas Nicklaus wrote that many hearts that include Barbara and his hurt after learning about his sudden passing. He said that Tim was an important story to be told in golf.

Apart from them, many other people came forward and expressed their sadness on the untimely demise of the journalist. Speaking of his cause of death, it has been reported that Tim Rosaforte was battling Alzheimer’s disease for quite some time. It is a medical condition which erases memory and other mental functions. Rosaforte became the 12th person who was appointed a PGA of America honorary member in 2020. The list included the nine-time major champion Gary Player along with the former presidents George Bush, Gerald Ford, and Dwight Eisenhower.

Over his career, Tim achieved several awards such as the PGA of America’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Journalism. To honour the journalist, the Honda Classic had also renamed its media centre. He took gold broadcast roles with the NBC-Golf Channel reporting team and with USA Network and he wrote for South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Tampa Times and more throughout his life. Tim Rosaforte death has really shocked his loved ones and his fans across the world.
