Lionel Blair entertained the public for over eight decades. He was mainly known as a team captain on a popular game show titled Give Us A Clue while recently he appeared in Ricky Gervais’s Extras. Besides, the TV Presenter also took part in Celebrity Big Brother. The English actress Bonnie Langford took to Twitter to express her sadness on Blair’s death.

How Did Lionel Blair Die?

Langford posted a picture of them dancing and wrote that she is privileged to have been Blair’s dance partner. Apart from her, Carol Vorderman also remembered the entertainer and addressed him as a kind and smiling family fan who was always filled with energy. Lionel Blair was born in 1928 in Canada and had moved to the UK where he started performing in air raid shelters in World War Two. Before his successful career, Lionel was known by his real name Henry Lionel Ogus. The TV presenter had lost his father when he was just 14-year-old.

From the next year, Blair started his show business career as an actor and appeared in musical productions with his elder sister. The entertainer learnt dancing all by himself and was inspired by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and copied their routines at home with Joyce. Besides, he also took part in a comedic dance-off which was against Sammy Davis Jr at Royal Variety Performance in 1961. It was the highlight of Lionel Blair’s career. He also played a choreographer role in the Beatles film A Hard Day’s Night. It is really saddening to lose such a talented personality like Lionel Blair.
