Happy August bank holiday! A time for Brits to enjoy some downtime at home, make the most of the relatively nice weather or have friends around for good food and drink.

Whether you’ve committed to time on the sofa catching up on films and TV or having people over, you might find yourself in need of supplies.

If you don’t want to face public transport woes or busy supermarkets, can you still get deliveries from Aldi, Asda, and the Co-op?

Here is all you need to know.

Do Asda still deliver on bank holidays?

Good news for anyone expecting some goodies delivered over the bank holiday weekend; Asda continues as normal with delivery services over the bank holiday weekend.

You can book delivery slots up to a day before you want your groceries brought to your door.

Prices for delivery range from £3 to £4.50 depending on the delivery slot.

You can also try to get Asda goods picked up and delivered through UberEats, if your local area does that.

However, you’ll need to plan ahead so your rider can get there in time. Asda opening times may vary from store to store, although many will be reducing their hours over the bank holiday weekend (you can check yours online).

Many Asda stores will close at 8pm on Monday, instead of their usual closing times of between 10pm-12am.

Will Co-op still deliver over the bank holiday?

If you’re a fan of the Co-op, you can get your favourite treats and bits this weekend.

Using the online delivery site, you can still book delivery slots through the weekend, including bank holiday Monday (August 30).

Availability and slots will vary by location.

You can also try a last-minute Deliveroo order with the Co-op, but be aware that some stores may close earlier on bank holiday Monday. It’s best to check your local stores opening hours.

Do Aldi deliver over the bank holiday?

Aldi’s in-house delivery service only delivers SpecialBuys items, which is their range of items like hot tubs, baby products, furniture, and more.

They don’t deliver groceries.

Aldi continues to deliver SpecialBuys as normal, following their delivery timeframes.

These are as follows:

  • Named Day Delivery – Your order will be delivered on your chosen date (Monday to Saturday only).
  • Standard Delivery – Your order will be delivered 3-5 working days from the date you place your order.
  • Large Item Delivery – Your order will be delivered 2-7 working days from the date you place your order.
  • Extra Large Item Delivery – Your order will be delivered 2-7 working days from the date you place your order. From time to time there may be disruptions in our delivery network. Click here for the latest delivery updates.

Stores will be open:

  • Saturday, August 28: 8am to 10pm
  • Sunday, August 29: 10am to 4pm
  • Monday, August 30: 8am to 8pm
