A philanthropist and lover of sports, Asiwaju Akindele Fajemiyo has donated a trophy for a grassroots football competition that will be played in his name to discover talents in Osun State.

Fajemiyo, who hailed from Ipetu Ijesha, a town in Oriade local government area, in Osun State, Nigeria, said the idea is to complement efforts of the Osun State government in youths’ capacity building through sports.

He added that his technical team will scout for talented players that will form a football team that will bear his name and will be sponsored in the Nationwide League and subsequently progress to the elite cadre of Nigerian professional league, thereby creating employment opportunities for talented Osun youths.
